About Agragami Social Welfare Society
Agragami Social Welfare Society is a Chhattisgarh-based nonprofit organization committed to driving sustainable rural development, environmental restoration, and community empowerment. Established by Lt. A.P. Vaishnav, a retired Agriculture Development Officer with deep roots in rural India, Agragami carries forward a legacy of public service and ecological responsibility. We work with communities across Bilaspur, Korba, and Kawardha to develop inclusive, low-cost, and nature-based solutions that address challenges like deforestation, water scarcity, climate change, and rural marginalization. Through our flagship campaigns—Seed Ball Movement, Cloth to Canopy, and Save Pond, Save Life—we create impact by integrating local knowledge with citizen participation.

We don’t just plant trees—we plant futures.
At Agragami, we believe that real change starts at the grassroots. Our approach emphasizes community leadership, volunteerism, and rural-urban collaboration, transforming everyday actions into sustainable progress.

To promote ecological restoration, climate resilience, and community empowerment through grassroots action, nature-based solutions, and inclusive participation—ensuring environmental justice and sustainable development for future generations.
Our Vision
A just, green, and self-reliant rural society where communities live in harmony with nature, practice sustainability, and lead local solutions to global challenges.
Lt. A.P. Vaishnav | Founder

Visionary Leader | Grassroots Reformer | Lifelong Public Servant
Lt. A.P. Vaishnav, the esteemed founder of Agragami Social Welfare Society Chhattisgarh , was a retired Agriculture Development Officer who dedicated his life to the service of rural communities in Chhattisgarh. Coming from a humble, lower middle-class background and belonging to a marginalized community, he deeply understood the challenges faced by the rural poor. Despite limited resources, he rose through the ranks of government service, earning respect for his dedication to farmers and sustainable agriculture.
After retirement, instead of choosing a quiet life, he founded Agragami to continue serving society—this time through grassroots development. His vision was clear: empower communities, restore the environment, and build a self-reliant rural India. His commitment to people-centered change, ecological sustainability, and volunteerism continues to inspire the organization’s values and actions. Lt. Vaishnav’s legacy lives on in every tree planted, every pond revived, and every life touched through Agragami’s mission.

About us
Our Philosophy of Change
- At Agragami Social Welfare Society, we believe that true and lasting change begins at the grassroots, when communities become the drivers of their own development. Our philosophy is rooted in people’s participation, environmental stewardship, and self-reliance.
- We see rural communities not as beneficiaries, but as custodians of nature and culture, capable of leading powerful transformations. By blending traditional wisdom with innovative, low-cost solutions, we address ecological degradation, climate vulnerability, and social inequality.
- Our approach nurtures local ownership, volunteerism, and collective responsibility—turning simple acts like sowing a seed ball, reviving a pond, or donating an old cloth into catalysts for larger environmental and social change.
Where We Work
Agragami Social Welfare Society is actively working in the districts of Bilaspur, Korba, and Kawardha in Chhattisgarh. Our interventions focus on creating sustainable rural models that connect environmental restoration with community empowerment. Through campaigns like Seed Ball Movement, Cloth to Canopy, and Save Pond, Save Life, we are not only revitalizing rural landscapes but also building strong emotional and resource linkages between urban contributors and rural beneficiaries. By fostering this rural-urban collaboration, we aim to create replicable models of ecological harmony, volunteerism, and inclusive development that can inspire climate action across regions.
